Sarah and her preschool class had a field trip to the local Recycling Center. The view from the conference room was great - conveyor belts, giant magnets (the big black thing at the top left), and a couple of dozen workers in bright yellow safety gear.

What isn't seen in this picture, is the ENORMOUS pile of unsorted recyclable materials brought in by the Waste Management trucks over the last 1-2 days. It was huge. Seriously, it made the Caterpillar Backhoe look tiny.
On the up side, it means people are recycling, and less is going to the landfill.
Oh, and during the talk with the education specialist at Waste Management's Cascade Recycling Center, Sarah whistled. The entire time.
